5th Annual Blissdom Conference 2012

Five years. The social media landscape has changed significantly since our first conference, embracing new platforms, incredibly significant reach and influence, and exponential growth in numbers of participants alone. It is a thrilling time to be a creative personality and we are honored to grow with you, anticipating your needs and answering your challenges.

The social media conference landscape, however, has hardly shifted. Even if this is your first conference and particularly if this is your 15th, you’ve come to know the format to expect, the pool of speakers to anticipate, and the takeaway to contemplate. We love every conference for different reasons. We hope you’ve come to love BlissDom for the progress we initiate and encourage and the creative process we continually analyze and adore. But this year? This year we are thrilled to burst forth with even more.

BlissDom 2012 is breaking down every construct and changing the game. Gone are panels of familiar bloggers. Gone are isolated Wisdom Workshops a day before the conference. Gone are every excuse to not only dream dangerously but excuses to not take action on your dreams.

This year, BlissDom is creating a dynamic session schedule featuring a thoughtful combination of 2-hour sessions that will begin with professionaly-led interactive presentations, followed by hands-on small group work reminiscent of our tremendously successful Wisdom Workshops. We are combining the most compelling elements of our industry with the best of our own history in order to create the next stage of social media conferences, the next frontier we will call home.

BlissDom is committed to representing the interests and needs of our widely varied community. Tracks will cover art, commerce, and the exciting place where the two meet. Each session will begin, accordingly, with case studies and/or expansive, actionable theories presented by experienced speakers. We are taking a break from panels this year, allowing you to focus on one speaker per session. Think of each session as your own personal small-scale keynote. Session topics will include writing, entrepreneurship, social good, photography, etsy, food, crafts, frugal, and much more fabulousness. Our enterprising speakers will not only tell you what they’ve done to succeed (creatively, in business, etc.) but they will show you how you can harness your own passion and moxie to do the same. We love theory, but we adore progress.

Breaking from the presentations, we will recreate the charismatic drive that made you fall in love with Wisdom Workshops and guide you in small group settings where familiar thought leaders from our own community will work with you to apply the notes you’ve taken from the presentation and discussion, translating it to your own work or creative hopes. Yes, there will be hands-on work. No, you won’t have to present anything. We want you to feel comfortable (among friends, peers) but also challenged.
